PHP , which is software , released under the PHP License .  PHP is widely ported  and  can be deployed in most web servers  and free of charge for almost every operating system and plat form.

With the time goes on ,  new technique /programming/upgradation of the PHP is its place. The new version of PHP  is taking the place of older version.

Now in the year 2014 experimentation of new version PHPNG  ( PHP Next Generation) is now underway , which is aimed at optimizing PHP performance by refactoring the Zend Engine retaining the near-complete language compatibility. PHPNG is the foundation of the next major of PHP  which are namely PHP6  or PHP7  , but version name is not decided as yet..
